Other than where a rate is fixed, all rates are variable.
Interest-free period * Up to 56 days for purchases when you pay your balance in full every month by the due date.
* There is no interest free period for Balance Transfers, Storecard Transfers, Cheque Transactions or Cash Advances.
Interest charging information
You will not pay interest on purchases if you pay your balance in full and on time each month.
Otherwise, the period over which interest is charged will be as follows:

Allocation of Payments

If you do not pay off your balance in full, payments we receive will be applied to categories of your balance in the following order:

* Payment Protection Insurance Premiums

* Cash Advances including Cheque Transactions

* Instore Transactions and transactions

* Balance Transfers and Storecard Transfers

* Instore Transactions attracting a promotional rate as notified to you

In each category interest and charges are paid first, followed by the remainder of the balance. Please refer to 'Allocation of Payments' in your conditions of use for a full breakdown.

We recommend that you pay more than the minimum payment whenever possible. If you make only the minimum payment eachmonth it will take you longer and cost you more to clear your balance, as shown in the example above.

Recurring transaction

A recurring transaction, sometimes called a continuous payment authority, is a series of payments collected with your agreement from your card by a retailer or supplier (for example, a mobile phone subscription), This agreement is between you and the retailer. The direct Debit Guarantee does not cover these transactions.

Public areas onsite are those that can be viewed without you having to log into your account. These also exclude the full Special Offers page - which requires you to enter the first 6 digits of your partnership card number to be viewed.

When using the public portion of the site you are not required to provide us with any personal information and we do not monitor or collect any personally identifiable information from you on your use of the public portions of the site. We may track the number of users who visit areas of the site, but this tracking will not identify you.

We may also record the location of your computer on the internet for systems administration and trouble-shooting purposes and to report aggregate information.

If you provide us with certain up-to-date data about yourself, such as applying for a credit card, we will handle that data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

We maintain strict security standards and procedures to prevent unauthorised access of your data by anyone, including our staff. We use secure technologies including data encryption, firewalls and server authentication to protect the security of your data. All our Group companies, staff and third parties who provide our support services are required to observe our privacy standards and allow us to audit them for compliance.

John Lewis Financial Services Limited and companies in the John Lewis Partnership will never release your personal details to any company outside the John Lewis Partnership for mailing or marketing purposes.

Cookies are pieces of information that a website transfers to your computer's hard drive for record keeping purposes.
